| 説明 | More colonial buildings- old shop houses in the Ipoh old town district. This bit is at the far end of the much hyped Concubine Lane in the old city district. Considering the hype and the coverage Concubine Lane gets among vloggers, the relatively light crowds and the near empty shops were disappointing to say the least. Be that as it may, I would have probably been better off opting to stay here in the old town district of Ipoh rather in the new town district. This old town district definitely seemed more interesting. Ipoh's popularity as an international tourist destination has been significantly boosted in recent years by efforts made by the local authorities to conserve the town's British colonial-era architecture. Ipoh is also well known for its cuisine and natural attractions, such as its limestone hills and caves, in many of which Buddhist temples have been built- pictures of some of these appear later in this album. (see previous pictures earlier in this album). In addition, Ipoh has also managed to maintain its reputation as one of the cleanest cities in Malaysia. (Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, Sept. 2023) |
