説明 | It is always pleasant to look over the farmland and see Mt Stirling in the distance. On this side of the rock you can see the Salt River. This is a very salty river which runs after heavy rain but still maintains its saltiness. it is very much like a long thin saltlake. "Mount Stirling is a giant granite outcrop which stands out imposingly amidst the central wheatbelt. If you get the chance to make it out to the eastern wheat and sheep towns to check out the wonderful spring wildflowers, make sure you make time to stretch your legs and climb Mount Stirling.Climbing the rock is a great adventure for the fit and agile. The panoramic view from the summit makes the effort worthwhile. The rock is surrounded by wildlife sanctuaries containing population of black-flanked rock wallaby. Keep an eye out for these timid marsupials. It is said that the huge rocks represent the coils of the giant serpent which was believed to dwell in the water holes.Mount Stirling just over 2 hours drive east of Perth or 45 minutes drive south of Kellerberrin."www.westernaustralia.com/en/attraction/mount-stirling/56b... 12 Jan 2024Photo: Fred |
