説明 | Holsten House. Herman and Elsie Holsten bought the land on the corner of Rutland and Victoria Avenue from the Legoe family in 1938. Holsten was a businessman and member of the Royal Yacht squadron, and an owner of a race horses. Holsten millinery store was a well-known business in Adelaide at that time. The English style house with a chimney centred in the gable was designed by architect Charles Russell and partners. The two storey residence had much charm. Later the house was extended across the double garage and finished with a half hipped roof. |
