説明 | Pale smartweed (Persicaria lapathifolia) at Three Bridges Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's easy to see why this smartweed / knotweed is also known as curlytop knotweed and nodding smartweed.Common in wet disturbed areas and is considered a weed in some areas and situations. It is thought to be native to North America, but there are also non-native ecotypes that have been introduced into North America from Eurasia.Located at the constructed wetland / pond called "Dragonfly Pond", within Three Bridges Park. Three Bridges Park is an urban park opened in 2013 in Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley. It is a brownfield redevelopment project, on the former site of a Milwaukee Road railroad yard.Dragonfly Pond is located south of the Menomonee River, near the Hank Aaron State Trail, about 800 feet west of the 27th Street / Layton Boulevard viaduct. It can be accessed from the trailheads at the Mitchell Park and Domes, or the 33rd Court bridge.Photo taken mid-September 2023. Original key: IMG_8486 |
