| 説明 | Built in 1899, this Romanesque Revival-style former textile mill was designed by W. B. Smith Whaley, and was originally known as the Olympia Cotton Mills. The four-story building features a red brick exterior with buff brick and stone accents, arched bays with paired nine-over-nine double-hung windows with transoms, simple brick pilasters, a low-pitch side-gable roof, a two-story rear wing with a truncated smokestack, and two six-story ornate towers with roman arched bays, large doorways at the base with decorative trim surrounds, buff brick pilasters and trim, belfries with louvers in roman arched bays, decorative corinthian capitals, brick corbeling, and pyramidal hipped roofs. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, and today, serves as an apartment complex, known as Olympia Mill at The Mills. |
