| 説明 | it was Lady Churston, wife of the lord of the manor , who recognised the shaft of the old village cross buried in a barn wall. It had been taken down and hidden from the Puritans at the end of the Civil War to save it from destruction. Ironically, over time, nobody knew where it had been hidden!
