| 説明 | Away at last- going fireflies spotting at Kuala Selangor. We have got onto our fireflies spotting boat from the jetty not too far from to the tiny fishing village of Kampung Kuantan. We have been promised a relaxing boat ride on the Kuala Selangor River watching the said fireflies. The fireflies are known in the local Malay language as kelip-kelip and can be seen on the mangrove trees along the river. The mango tree species are called berembang. This spot is reputed to be one of the biggest firefly colonies in the world. (Kuala Selangor, Malaysia, Sept. 2023) |
