| 説明 | I was fascinated by this Parrot in Sierra Blue colour! I am in the KL Bird Park in KL, Malaysia, an essential place of pilgrimage for me every time I visit KL, thanks to it's vast expanse with over 3,000 birds from over 200 species, most of them free flying, thanks to the overhead mesh which runs throughout the expanse of the park. I've seen the rich cobalt blue of the Hyacinth Macaw and the sky blue-black colour of some budgies/ lovebirds, but this is the first time I'm seeing a full sized parrot in Sierra Blue! I could not find any reference to this kind of bird on the net, though one website mentioned this as a variation of the normally green Indian Ring-necked Parakeet. If that is so, there was nary a sign of a ring like pattern around the neck of this bird! The mystery deepens. But all I can say is, beautiful, rare bird! (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Sept. 2023) |
