説明 | On Saturday 9 September, activists held a commemorative rally and protest shortly after the first anniversary of the fatal shooting of 24 year old Chris Kaba, after he was pursued by an unmarked police vehicle (without lights or a siren) and shot dead by a police marksman through the windscreen of his car on Streatham Hill on 5 September 2022. [ In this photo, taken in Parliament Square, Chris Kaba's mother, Helen, is consoled by activist Marcia Rigg, activist and sister of Sean Rigg who died in police custody, while listening to a speech by (I think) activist and racial justice campaigner Temi Mwale (please let me know if this is incorrect in the comments) on behalf of friends and family and calling for justice for Chris. Chris Kaba's father, Prosper Kaba, was among those sitting under the canopy. ] The family and activists are still waiting for a satisfactory explanation of the circumstances around the fatal shooting of their son, who was unarmed when he was killed. Helen spoke briefly to the crowd, telling them "The CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) have got everything, they've got evidence to decide to charge the officer who killed Chris... Why in the 21st century should this happen to Chris? No matter what, we need an answer and we need a charging decision without delay." news.sky.com/story/chris-kaba-parents-of-man-shot-by-poli... |
