| 説明 | Built in 1852, this Italianate and Greek Revival-style building was constructed to house the Valley House Hotel, which operated until around 1980. The building features a red brick exterior, bracketed cornice added in the 1870s, limestone lintels and sills, replacement windows, a large door opening in the center of the facade of the original section of the building with a transom and sidelights, a rough-hewn stone base, and multiple first floor storefront openings. The building is a contributing structure in the Brookville Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, and has been renovated into an apartment building, with commercial and retail space on the ground floor. |
