| 説明 | Built in the 19th Century, this Italianate-style building likely dates to just after the 1871 Great Chicago Fire, and since 1898, has housed the Berghoff Restaurant. The building is clad in stucco meant to resemble stone with arched window bays featuring decorative trim surrounds and housing one-over-one double-hung windows on the upper floors, with ground level storefront sand retail space, a low-slope roof enclosed by a parapet, and a neon blade sign mounted to the front facade, which hangs low over the street. The building is a rare surviving example of late 19th Century low-rise commercial architecture in the Chicago Loop. |
