| 説明 | A recent post by toddkeith533 made me a bit nostalgic for the "good old days", hence the reason for this shot. BTW, this is a screen capture which is a "shot" of my desktop.Back in the days before Windows 1.0x (which was just a GUI shell for MS-DOS) it's quite possible that your computer screen would have looked like this. You would be running programs from the command line (Windows Key+R, type CMD) with all the information shown in a terminal window. That's right folks, no point -n- click and graphics would have been rudimentary at best. There was no Youtube, no Flickr, and the only games available were Star Trek and Hunt The Wumpus (text only games).You actually had to know what commands to enter to get the computer to do what you wanted and what it could do was pretty limited.Things have come a long way since then and I\'m torn as to whether they\'re better or not. Today, anyone with a "smart phone" (which really isn't that smart) has access to the WWW and all the information (and disinformation) contained therein which in my opinion has brought the world into the state it's in today. Maybe I'm an old fool but there's still a part of me that wishes we could go back to the old days. Ignorance is bliss and personally I could use a bit more bliss in my life. |
