Many visitors, Argentineans and foreigners, look for her tomb through a maze of alleys and mausoleums. According to my very own perception, such personal journey to the Duarte Family Mausoleum equals that of a pilgrimage. Evita´s legacy continues to produce contradictory feelings among people. Her embalmed body finally rests in a safe place after being abducted and hidden both in Argentina and in Italy during the year of notorious dictatorships. Such attempts to obliterate her from Argentinean and Latin American history have failed badly. |
