説明 | Restored attraction vehicle from Disneyland's defunct PeopleMover attraction (1967-1995) on display at the "That's from Disneyland!" pop-up exhibit and auction in Sherman Oaks, California, on August 9, 2018. The car sold for $160,000.The placard at the bottom reads: "Lot 746 Original “PeopleMover” Attraction Vehicle. (Disneyland, c.1967-1995)An original “PeopleMover” attraction vehicle from Disneyland. This vehicle is one of only 13 known to still exist, as nearly all of the vehicles were destroyed and discard when the attraction closed in 1995. The “PeopleMover” vehicles were designed by Imagineer Bob Gurr for the “New Tomorrowland” in 1967. As a result, they feature an elegant and futuristic look that helped Tomorrowland set it self apart as the vision for what tomorrow might someday contain. When the “PeopleMover” opened, the vehicle was painted a vibrant yellow, but was later repainted white with a blue stripe and the number “46” during a refurbishment in 1987. The vehicle has been partially restored, including the return of the paint to its original vibrant yellow. The “PeopleMover” vehicle measures 84” long, 58” wide, and 72” tall. The condition is very good with minor wear throughout from use. This item will require special shipping arrangements. Please inquire before bidding. (Est. $25,000-$35,000)" |
