説明Cromer. This tiny settlement was named after a town of this name in Kent and Norfolk England. In SA it remained a locality only with a school being built at the crossroads in 1898 as Para Wirra School. This was changed the next year to Cromer School. In 1911 the school was praised by the government inspector for having almost perfect marks in the examinations! The school closed in 1950 and is now tended by former students. The Hundred of Para Wirra was declared by Governor Robe in 1846 and it included towns from Kersbrook to Mt Pleasant. Like many school rooms it was used for occasional church services (especially by the Methodist church) and dances and social evenings for the local tennis club etc. The settlement had a Post Office from 1910 for many years. Coincidentally one of the main founders of the WEA of SA in 1913 was a man called Victor Cromer.
