説明 | Built in 1937, this International Style house was designed by Beatty and Strang for Elmer Brunsell, whom owned the Brunsell Lumber and Millwork company with his brother, William Brunsell. In 1939, the house was sold to Every Eldon, an accountant with the Gardner Baking Company, who lived there until 1946, when he sold it to Joseph Ripp, who worked for C.W. Anderson Jewelers, and whom lived there until his death in 1956, with his wife, Mary Ripp, continuing to live in the house after his death. Originally one story in height, it had a second story added in a compatible style in 2008-2009, harmonizing with the house’s original design. The house is clad in stucco with a low-slope roof, wide overhanging eaves, windows with horizontal mullions, a one-story wing to one side with a garage, a one-story bay window on the front with a roof that cantilevers over the front door, and windows that wrap the corners at the bays and on the second floor. The house is remarkably quite similar to the Jacobs House across the street in size and form, though it has a simpler exterior and has been altered. |
