| 説明 | It was a bit surprising to come across Coccoloba uvifera, a.k.a. seagrape, a coastal species 27-km from Belize's coast. It is on the edge of the old Western Highway, a dirt road infrequently used for decades. Contemporary ecosystem maps this location is lowland savanna and 14-km west of a littoral mangroves on the fringe of the brackish Northern Lagoon. The terrain is flat and composed of shallow coastal deposits, the soil has been described as loamy sand and gravelly sand underlain by mottled coarse sandy clay.The red veins on the large orbiculate leaves are distinctive. |
