| 説明 | Some fascinating crocodile facts:Crocodiles have the strongest bite in the animal kingdom when closing its jaw - eight times more powerful than a great white shark - but the muscles for opening its jaws are relatively weak. Females dig a hole about 50cm deep in the sand before depositing 40-60 eggs and the temperature at which they incubate determines their sex; once it gets to 32ºC, the embryo begins producing androgenic hormones, causing male sex organs to develop. Females remain near the nest at all times and after incubation of about 80 to 90 days, the females open the nest and carry the juveniles to the water. Crocs can stay underwater for up to 30 minutes and can slow their heart rates right down to increase duration under water to up to two hours. |
