| 説明 | Carmet Tugs new vessel Tradesman seen on the River Mersey, 07.02.2023, awaiting a vessel inward for either the Manchester Ship Canal or QE2 Oil Dock at Eastham. The vessel was purchased from SMS Towage and will no doubt be renamed to a Wirral-themed name. My guess is CT Moreton, but she is still not renamed as of 12.03.2023, so we shall have to wait and see. She was built in 1987 as Waglan for Hong Kong Salvage and Towage Co.Ltd., by Imamura Shipbuilding of Kure, Japan. It's gross tonnage is 197 tons.Her silhouette is immediately recognisable as a Japanese design, which is quite distinctive as opposed to European tugs of the same age. Not quite quite my cup of tea, it must be said, but a new tug on the river all the same! Carmet have previously purchased a similar vessel from SMS Towage (Trueman) which is now named CT Upton and wears Carmet Tugs colour scheme. |
