| 説明 | From mid-September 2022, a series of photos of a northbound Amtrak Hiawatha passenger train arriving in downtown Milwaukee. These trains originate in Chicago Union Station and are scheduled for an 89-minute trip to cover the 86 miles on Metra and Canadian Pacific rails between downtown Chicago and downtown Milwaukee. In this photo, Amtrak 76, a GE P42DC locomotive, leads the train to the Second Street (Plankinton Ave.) grade crossing, after just crossing the Menomonee River swing bridge. This view looks south. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the sharper curves on Amtrak's network; the flanges and wheels really squeal on both Amtrak and CP trains going around this curve. |
