| 説明 | Church of St Mary, Sheviock Cornwall dedicated by Bishop Bronescombe in 1259 but only the lower west tower and the font www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/F00Z9XmwZ1 survive from his time. The unbuttressed two stage tower, lit to the west by a solitary lancet, is topped by a spire added in 13c All substantially rebuilt in the 1300s including the south side of the nave, the transept arch and the inner arches to all the south windows. The slender shafts supporting the east window of the chancel and the east window tracery are early 14c. www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/n1i0rNG954In the late 1400s the church was enlarged by the addition of the north aisle. This removed the north transept and the window was re-erected at the western end of the new aisle. The original wagon roof of the north aisle survives, also a fragment of the original medieval glass from this time high up at the east end of the aisle. A stairway still marks site of the now lost rood screen at the junction of chancel and nave.
