| 説明 | Built circa 1968, this modern church housed the congregation of the Columbus United Methodist Church, which disbanded in 2020 after 52 years of existence. The building features a front wing with a low side-gable roof with wide overhanging eaves, metal casement window in pairs and a ribbon window on the side facade, a taller sanctuary wing with a front gable roof, which stands taller than the peak of the roof on the front of the church, a front stained glass window, clerestory windows on the sides, and a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired window wall at the rear of the sanctuary, clapboard exterior cladding, a concrete base, a simple Wright-inspired copper spire atop the roof of the sanctuary, a low recessed front entrance, also inspired by Wright, and a side addition with a taller roof that houses the Fellowship Hall and kitchen, which was added during the latter part of the 20th Century. The building presently serves as an event center and continues to host various community organizations and groups that utilized the building when it was a church. |
