| 説明 | 「バリ石」のバリは方言で「割れ」をさし、「割れた石」という意味です。大きさは、9.0×7.0×3.9ｍ、推定重量216トンで、世界最大のハマサンゴの津波石として、国際的にも認められています。「石垣島東海岸の津波石群」は、1771年の明和大津波によって打ち上げられた、または移動したとされる、石垣島の東側にある５つの巨石（「津波大石」、「高こるせ石」、「あまたりや潮荒」、「安良大かね」、「バリ石」）の総称で、2013年に国の天然記念物に指定されました。（参照元：「石垣市の文化財」石垣市公式Webページ、「国指定文化財等データベース」文化庁公式Webページ）【注意】バリ石は、伊原間牧場内にあります。牧場内は道が悪く、車高の低い車だと進むことが困難です。また、見学は、潮の干満にも左右されることから、特に注意が必要です。 / "Bari" means "crack" in local dialect, thus "Bari-ishi" means "broken stone". Measuring 9.0 x 7.0 x 3.9 m and weighing an estimated 216 tons, it is internationally recognized as the world's largest hump coral tsunami stone."Tsunami Stones on the East Coast of Ishigaki Island" is the collective name for five huge stones ("Tsunami-oishi", "Takakoruse-ishi", "Amatariyasuuare", "Yasuraufukane", and "Bari-ishi") on the east side of Ishigaki Island that were washed up or moved by the 1771 Meiwa Tsunami. They were designated as a national natural treasure in 2013.【Attention】"Bari-ishi" stone is located in Ibaruma Ranch. The road inside the ranch is not good, and it is difficult to proceed in a low-height vehicle. Also, visitors should be aware that viewing the site depends on the ebb and flow of the tide. |
