| 説明 | 集落などの入り口（Y字路）には大樹が植えられていることが多く、ツンマーセーと呼ばれています。魔除けとしての意味があり、木陰が住民の交流の場となるなどランドマークとしての意味もあるようです。写真は大浜のツンマーセー（かつてはY字路）ですが、探してみると石垣島のあちこちにツンマーセーと思われる大樹があります。詳しくは地元の方々にお聞きください。（参照元：石垣市農村環境計画） / Large trees are often planted at the entrances (Y-shaped junction) of villages, and are called "Tsummase". The trees are believed to ward off evil spirits and also serve as landmarks, as the shade of the trees provides a place for residents to enjoy meeting and chit-chatting with each other. The photo is a "Tsummase" in Ohama area (used to be a Y-shaped junction). If you look for it, you will find large trees that are thought to be "Tsummase" all over Ishigaki Island.
