| 説明 | Giant hogweed (scientific name Heracleum mantegazzianum) in Ellsworth Park in Bayside, Wisconsin in July 2018. Other common names for this invasive weed include giant cow parsnip and giant cow parsley.This plant is bad news. In addition to being ecologically invasive and nonnative to North America, it is phototoxic. The sap of the plant reacts with sunlight on human skin to cause potentially severe burns. (It is similar to wild parsnip in this hazard). Do your research before attempting to handle it, and stay away from plants that look like this unless you know what you are doing. |
