| 説明 | Built in the mid-20th Century, this modernist building with Chinese-influenced features houses the Lung Doo Benevolent Society, a charitable organization focusing on the Chinese community in Honolulu. The building features a relatively simple rectangular form with a wavy concrete canopy on the first floor, ribbon windows on the second floor, a moon gate at the entrance to the stairway, breeze block on the side of the stairway, a hipped green tile roof atop the stairway with flared corners, and concrete block laid in a grid pattern. The building is a noncontributing structure in the Chinatown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. |
