| 説明 | Built in 1916, this Beaux Arts-style building was constructed to house the Citizens Bank, which has since become part of Chase Bank. The three-story cream brick building features large window openings that have been infilled and seen replacement of the original double-hung windows with storefront frames, heavy modification of the first floor facade with the addition of faux historic paneling, windows, pilasters, and trim at the two commercial spaces on the first floor, decorative terra cotta trim including bands at the window sills, ionic pilaster capitals at the corners with eagles, volutes at the corners of the parapets with decorative trim band caps at the top of the parapet, a decorative cornice, and the years 1852 and 1916 inscribed in panels at the parapet on the principal facade. The building is a contributing structure in the Danville Commercial District Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. |
