| 説明 | I found this WWII German Feldpost postcard at a yard sale. The front shows a wagon drawing a load of gigantic eggs labeled Happy Easter 1942. Postmark date of March 24, 1942. From Helmut Weber to Julius Weber.The back information identifies the Feldpost number as 34342, which seems to correlate with the "(Feld-Fernkabel) KompanieKorps-Nachrichten-Abteilung 424" or Field Long Distance Cable Company, Corps Intelligence Department 424. My guess is they were part of the German invasion of Russia, leading to the Battle of Stalingrad a bit later in 1942. I'll dig more into it, but at this time frame they may have been in the region near or in Ukraine and Belarus.Any info or guesses would be appreciated. |
