| 説明 | Built in 1847, this Greek Revival-style house was constructed by Doctor Pawling, a local medical doctor, and survived the devastating fire of 1860 that destroyed most of the rest of the buildings on the block. The house features a hipped roof, painted brick facade, simple window openings, door opening with sidelights, transom, and decorative surround, and the later addition of an ornate victorian porch with decorative columns, brackets, and trim, and a side garage added in the early 20th Century, with part of the porch being converted to a carport in front of the garage at this time. The house is a contributing structure in the Lexington Avenue-Broadway Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. |
