| 説明 | Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Lemon Twist' 2/2022 Hinoki D1- (Buchholz&, 1996) Dwarf Japanese Hinoki Cypress, Size at 10 years: 2x2ft., Twisted lemon yellow needles, USDA Hardiness Zone 5, Michigan Bloom Month -, In Garden Bed D1 for 3.5 YEARS (Stanley). Planted in 2018.American Conifer Society: This cultivar originated as a mutation on Ch. obtusa 'Tsatsumi' found in 1996 by Buchholz & Buchholz Nursery, Gaston, Oregon.A dwarf, bright lemon yellow, fasciated variety of Japanese Hionki Cypress. Plant grows about 2-4 inches a year with contorted cockscombed growth. Needs partial shade to protect very bright foliage. Color more yellow than the golden form `Golden Whorl' . Partial shade. 13x10in. in Nov 2019.2020 note: Looks bad. It gets some sun in the morning. That's it. I am in SE MIchigan. USDA says I am a zone 6er. I say I am more like zone 5. Plants rated at zone 6 come to my garden to die. Zone 5 plants have a 50/50 chance. I usually try to buy zone 4 plants. Chamaecyparis are one of the zone 5 plants that usually do not do well in my garden. Most of them go into a "Brown Out" growth pattern. You can remove the brown needles, but they will be replaced with more brown needles. Chamaecyparis is off of my want list.Photo by F.D.Richards, SE Michigan.
