| 説明 | ARMORED FORMATION ON-THE-MOVE PILOT: Along with providing feedback on commercial On-The-Move (OTM) network prototypes integrated into surrogate armored vehicle platforms, Soldiers from the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division are also assessing numerous expeditionary at-the-quick-halt satellite communications terminals and line-of-sight prototypes that augment the OTM capabilities. During the three-week pilot, the Army is examining multiple equipment sets, looking at a wide range of commercial technologies, and will use Soldier feedback and assessment data to inform the best path forward for network OTM capability to support armored formation mission command, mobility and survivability.Among several intended capabilities, the eventual equipment set solution will improve network resiliency by providing more options – both line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight – to enhance units’ primary, alternate, contingency and emergency (PACE) communications plans. It will enhance network mobility and situational awareness, while making command posts and units more mobile and survivable. (U.S. Army photos by Capt.
