説明 | A local child brings his goat to the clinic---Animals are important to Afghans and integral to their livelihood. Almost every compound has at least one goat and several chickens, and it can be a major problem if they become sick. There are few vets in Afghanistan and many of the animals that the people rely on die from simple ailments because there is no-one with the skills to treat them. This week, experts from the Royal Army Veterinary Corps visited the villages of Basharan and Kwatah-Ata-Baja to conduct “Vet Engagement” – treating and curing thousands of sick local animals. They were escorted by members of The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, who are currently responsible for partnering Afghan forces and maintaining security in the area. |
