| 説明 | HUMPHREYS GARRISON – In an effort to prove at the Army level what many folks around Korea already know, the Red Dragon Inn, the 719th Military Intelligence Battalion, 501st Military Intelligence Brigade’s dining facility, hosted the Philip A. Connelly Award inspection team, Nov. 1.This program is used to improve the professionalism of food service personnel, thus providing the best quality food service to supported Soldier diners. It provides recognition for excellence in the preparation and serving of food in Army dining facilities and field kitchen operations.The Connelly Award is presented to the best Army dining facility in five different categories: small garrison, large garrison, active Army field kitchen, U.S. Army Reserve and U.S. Army National Guard. The Red Dragon Inn is competing in the small garrison category with five other dining facilities worldwide. They were runners-up last year and are more than eager to take the throne.With the evaluators on hand, the DFAC personnel wore scarlet uniforms with their symbol, the Red Dragon, embroidered on the back. The seats at each table were also adorned with a red cover presenting a professional and uniform front.The cooks, both U.S. Soldiers and Korean kitchen staff, prepared long and hard for this event and their efforts seemed to have paid off. Though behind the walls, the kitchen atmosphere was buzzing with cooks rushing and shouting out instructions, the food was served without trouble and delay. When questioned by the evaluators on certain procedures and regulations, the culinarians were fast and confident in their answers.The inspectors were impressed by the way the command took great interest in the process.U.S. Army photos by Cpl.
