説明 | Liverpool Street Underground Station, 16 November 2017. The sub-surface station was opened in 1875 by the Metropolitan Railway, initially named Bishopsgate, renamed Liverpool Street in 1909. It is now served by the Metropolitan Line, Hammersmith & City Line, Circle Line and, in a linked tube station, the Central Line. There is one entrance within the Network Rail station but that illustrated is that of the Central London Railway which reached here in 1912. However, the ground floor station entrance was completely refaced and the ticket hall modernised in 1946-51 for the Central Line when it was extended eastwards. The design was by the Chief Architect of the London Passenger Transport Board, Stanley Heaps, and his Assistant Thomas Bilbow. |
