| 説明 | this apple, Alkmene is probably my favourite of the apples in the garden. It originates from Germany in the 1930s and is a crisp eater with a gala x russet look and a lovely clean cox type flavour.It does so well in UK/Ireland and i think it really hits a sweet-spot between climate tolerance and taste. Doesnt store brilliantly - probably the reason it is a home garden orchard apple rather than a shop apple.the trees are often now sold under the renamed label "Early Windsor" in UK now.
