説明 | Photograph of U.S. Army administrative officers with the U.S. Office of Military Government’s Kassel Governmental District standing outside on the lawn in front of the district office’s headquarters at the Schloss Wilhelmshöhe palace in Kassel, Germany, in October 1945 during World War II. Pictured are U.S. Army Lt. Westbrook of Raleigh, NC (left), and Lt. Robert J. Pleasants of Cary, NC (right). Westbrook worked in the Public Safety Office of the Kassel Governmental District; and Pleasants was serving at the time as the assistant to the Food and Agricultural Officer of the Kassel Governmental District’s Food and Agricultural Section. Both men attended North Carolina State University at the same time. Part of caption on back of photograph reads: "Lt. Westbrook is from Raleigh and has a wife and baby back home now. He went to State College a couple of years before he was drafted. I remembered him from his face. We did not know each other back there but we do now. He is a very splendid chap and I think a lot of him. He works in Public Safety and made all these pictures which are this size” [October 1945] [Photograph collected by Pleasants during his service in WWII].From Robert J.
