説明 | Bald Hills.Travelling east from Yankalilla in the Bungala River valley we climb the Bald Hills. They are the watershed between the Bungala River and the Inman River valleys. They were also the boundary of the Kaurna lands around Yankalilla and the Ngarrindjeri lands around Inman. Pioneer settlers said they seldom saw any Aboriginal people in the valleys as both clans remained in their separate lands and mainly moved along the coasts. The Methodists were active in the Bald Hills and both Wesleyans and Bible Christians built churches here in 1859. Both have now disappeared except for a few the front façade of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Fifty years ago it still had four complete walls. |
