説明 | Wedowee soils are found on upland ridges and side slopes. They are very deep and well drained. They have a brown loamy surface layer and brown clayey subsoil. Wedowee soils formed in material weathered from metamorphic rocks. Most areas of Wedowee soils are used for cropland, hay, and pasture. In forested areas, Eastern white pine, Virginia pine, red oak, white oak, post oak, hickory, blackgum, and red maple are the common trees. The common understory plants are sourwood, flowering dogwood, winged elm, eastern cedar, eastern redbud, and sassafras.Photo by John A.
