Ryan Slaughter, a logistics officer with the 70th Regional Training Institute, wins best officer at the 2021 Maryland National Guard Best Warrior Competition during an awards ceremony at the Stark Recreation Center on the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, on March 14, 2021. The competition is a multi-day marathon of mental and physical trials, pushing these elite Service members to their limits. This year’s competition took place from March 11-14.
