| 説明 | During the worst drought known to that time in 1864/65 water became scarce in northern areas but not in the Adelaide Hills. (The bad drought years in Adelaide with (270 - 290 mm) in the year were in 1914, 1959, 1967 and 2006. In 1870 parliamentary approval was given for a second reservoir near the river Torrens at Hope Valley. The dry earth wall was completed in 1873. The first concrete wall large reservoir in SA was to come more than a decade later at Beetaloo near Port Pirie. |
