Located on the Alexander Sheep Farm near Matamata, New Zealand, the 12 acre movie set is a must-see for fans and is a delight for those who aren't familiar with the movies, too. 44 permanently constructed Hobbit Holes are on the site, as well as the Green Dragon Inn. Anything outside of a Hobbit Hole is artificial; a prop for the movie.It was springtime in the Shire when we visited. Baby Lambs were bounding everywhere.September, 2016 |
