| 説明 | New Brighton (Staten Island) Citizens Coalition rally to shut the Jersey street Garbage depot. Organized by Rev. Victor Brown, Rev. Seawood, and attended by many local politicians (most late converts). North Shore City Council member Debi Rose, opposed in her recent election my most of the Democratic Party establishment (and not coincidentally the first African American elected to Island wide office) pushed to make this an issue.The garbage depot has been in the residential neighborhood since it became predominately black in the 50s, leaving dozens of nearby homes with stench, soot, and 24 hour noise, destroying poorly maintained roads and parking trucks on sidewalks every day.www.giftns.org/garage/ |
