説明 | "Taconite" does not have a fixed definition. It has been used to refer to siliceous (silicate-rich) iron formation rocks as well as magnetite-rich iron formation rocks. In America's Great Lakes region, iron ores are mined from Mesabi Iron Range of Minnesota and the Marquette Iron Range of Michigan. The material is then processed into taconite pellets for shipping via trains and large boats. These specimens were dropped by trains in Ohio.-----------------------------------See info. at:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taconiteandgeo.msu.edu/extra/geogmich/iron_ore__taconite.html |
