| 説明 | This impressive formation of six 1940’s US Navy fighters includes aircraft from three different operators.Leading is F6F-5 Hellcat “Minsi III”. She is c/n A.5634 and saw US Navy service with the Bureau No 70222. She is now operated by the Commemorative Air Force as N1078Z.Behind her are two F8F Bearcats. The nearer one is ‘122619 / P-14. She is c/n D.1148 and is operated by Lewis Air Legends as NX14WB, while the farther one is ‘122674 / S-201’ which is c/n D.1227 and is operated by the Commemorative Air Force as N7825C.On the outside of the formation are two Vought Corsairs. Nearest is F4U-5NL ‘121881’. She is c/n 9931 and is operated by the Lone Star Flight Museum as NX43RW, while on the far side is Goodyear built FG-1D ‘92468’ which is c/n 3729 and is operated by the Commemorative Air Force as N9964Z.Bringing up the rear is F7F-3P Tigercat ‘80390’ which is c/n C.132 and is operated by Lewis Air Legends as NX700F.The sight and sound of this formation was one of the highlights of the show for me!2019 Wings over Houston Airshow.Ellington Airport, Houston, Texas.19th October 2019 |
