説明 | Scoriaceous basalt from the Holocene of Utah, USA.The “Black Rock Desert”, located in Utah’s Sevier Desert, has some nice basalt lava flows. The rock seen here is from the Holocene-aged Fillmore Craters volcanics (less than 10,000 years old). The lavas are rough and jagged, and range from lightweight scoriaceous basalts to heavier vesicular basalts.Locality: Fillmore Craters, Black Rock Desert, eastern Sevier Desert, due west of of the town of Fillmore & west of Route 100, eastern Millard County, west-central Utah, USA |
