説明 | DornumersielThe spa park connects the center of Dornumersiel with the beach and harbor area. The wave-shaped path made of granite pavement meanders from Störtebekerstraße to the thatched house by the sea. It leads past imaginatively designed theme gardens that revolve around the topics of water, nature and their harmony with people. Expertise is imparted here in a playful way. In many small bays to the left and right of the path there are a total of 17 stations for visitors of all ages to discover, marvel and guess. In the first installation in the garden, the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon, is enthroned on a stone plinth. According to tradition, he triggered earthquakes out of anger and rage with his trident and caused ships to sink - can be read on an explanatory board. And when Schen Poseidon gets his own statue, Roman mythology shouldn't be missing either: Neptune, today's patron saint of seafarers, sits at the edge of his fountain.Behind it, a mighty cable drum comes into view, from which long, thick cordage unrolls: a cable length in seafaring denotes the tenth part of a nautical mile and is 185.20 m. It was used, for example, to determine short stretches of the sea such as port entrances. But that's not all: walkers can aim for a "visual mile" to match the topic of "units of measurement in seafaring". In the middle of a stone compass rose there is a corresponding direction finder with which a marker on the other bank of the Mahlbusen can be sighted - a precise method in seafaring even then.Mint types smell competitively in vessels and can be guessed at: mint, strawberry mint, chocolate mint, banana mint ... In addition to mint, many other herbs and plant mixtures find their way into the local pharmacy. Some of them can be sniffed, touched and viewed in their natural state in the healing garden. The optical center of the path is the sundial garden, a circle with a diameter of 286 m with stone quarders on the edge - the clock face. The sundial forms the heart of the complex and is located directly opposite the thatched house by the sea. What would a maritime garden be without a flag alphabet? Several flags can be seen on four posts, which, depending on the view and rotation, result in new words again and again. Trying out is the motto here. And that's not the end of the experiment. Anyone who has never waded barefoot through knee-deep water like a stork has the opportunity here in a Kneipp pool.At the end of the path, a wooden signpost marks the path. It points to some landscapes that have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, such as the Great Barrier Reef off Australia or the Dolomites. Arrows with corresponding kilometers indicate in the respective cardinal directions. From here it is - over the dike - only 300 meters to the Wadden Sea, which has been Waltnatuerbe since 2009. |
