説明 | Headache Vine (Clematis glycinoides) is a native woody climber which is forming large vivid white floral displays at the moment throughout Dungog Common. It belongs to the Buttercup family Ranunculaceae. It's called Headache Vine because inhaling fumes from crushed leaves is thought to relieve headaches (but can cause skin irritation).Leaves may be simple or trifoliate (with three leaflets).Male and female flowers are carried on different plants. Flowers are three centimetres across and white. The small, dry fruits have a feathery tail up to six centimetres long. The fruits are very light and the feathery tail allows them to be dispersed by the wind. |
