説明 | After the panic attack in the cave temple's innermost chamber, imaging large snakes etc. (see previous pictures), I began to breathe easy as I prepared to exit the cave. Relaxing a bit, I noticed that parts of the cave temple open up to the sky. In fact there was probably a bigger temple here, judging from the broken stones and debris lying around the entrance, along with a standing Buddha statue. (see previous pictures earlier in this album). I am in Kanchanaburi on a day trip to check out the bridge on the river Kwai and learn about the horrors related to the Death Railway, which I had spent the entire morning exploring. The after noon halt was at the Saiyok Noi waterfalls and while the rest of y group is splashing about in the waters of the pool, I opted for the long walk down a desolate rural Thai country road to check out the source of the Saiyok Noi falls. (detailed notes about all this appeared earlier in this album- see previous pictures). On my way back to join the rest of my group at the Saiyok Noi falls, I took a slight detour to explore this tiny cave temple set deep in the bush. (Kanchanaburi, Thailand, Oct. 2008) |
