説明 | The hilltop town of Ukhrul, now viewed from the other side, as seen on the long, winding road to Phangrei hill. We were based in Pharung village, on the other side of Ukhrul and have hence always been seeing this view from the other side. My son and I are here in Manipur in NE India to attend a wedding (see previous pictures earlier in this album)- which was incidentally held in Ukhrul town. Ukhrul (or Hunphun as it is sometimes called) is a town in the state of Manipur, India. Ukhrul is the home of the Tangkhul Naga. It is the administrative headquarter of the Ukhrul district. There are also four sub-divisions in the district for administering the villages in and around it. The villages, however, are governed by the 'village heads'. Ukhrul is a land of beautiful mountains interspersed by numerous tribal inhabitants echoing with the rhythms of tribal cultures and rich wild life. (Ukhrul, Manipur, NE India, Jan. 2020) |
