| 説明 | Photograph of a large sunken Japanese troop ship laying in the sand in the water just off a beach on the island of Guadalcanal in the Pacific Theater around 1942 or 1943 during World War II. The ship was sunk while trying to land Japanese army troops during the Battle of Guadalcanal in the fall of 1942. Photograph taken or collected by U.S. Army Air Forces photographer Joseph A.
